The Upper Hunter Shire is home to some of Australia’s leading horse studs and country bush festivals. Other experiences include art galleries, the acclaimed Hunter Warbirds Aircraft Display and access to the World Heritage Barrington Tops. The Shire consists of the larger towns of Scone, Aberdeen, Merriwa and Murrurundi, as well as several small outlying rural communities. You’ll find all this just over three hours from Sydney or two hours from Newcastle to Scone.
